Julie is an interdisciplinary artist, designer and writer for museums and productions in the Northeast US. Her art relates personal narratives through photography, graphic design, installation, and multimedia performance.
On Slate: Open Studio Hartford

Personal narratives will be forefront in photography at my booth at the annual Open Studio Hartford. November 16 and 17, all over Hartford, CT.

Current: Boston Children's Museum

Two interior window display designs for the Boston Childrens Museum's A-Z Windows Project. In the "Scaled Up" concept, "J" displays jade jewelry and "U" displays sea urchins from the BCM's collection; blown up in high-res imagery to 3'x6' banners displayed as a backdrop to the actual items. This exhibit is up for one year.

Position: Connecticut Science Center

Accepted a full-time position at the Connecticut Science Center as their sole Graphic Designer and Interim Webmaster. Major projects include the 2013 Educators Planning Guide and The Green Gala: Space Edition creative (invites, signage, programs, etc.).

Retail: MassArt Made News

MassArt Made (the gallery store at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design) has closed its physical doors this summer. Online offerings are being considered.

Project: Dongxi Zither

After being awarded the 2012 Godine Fellowship, I have learned to play basic chinese zither(guzheng) and guitar lutherie (building an acoustic guitar). The Dongxi Zither is currently on hold until fundraising efforts can complete the project.
